How to Use DaySwingTrader
Not the theory — the practical version. Where to look first, how to read one card end-to-end, and what actually makes a setup worth paying attention to.
1. Start on the Live Flow feed
The homepage is the feed itself — every unusual options trade we've detected today, newest first. You don't need to configure anything to start: just watch it for a few minutes during market hours (9:15 AM – 3:30 PM IST) and get a feel for how often real flow actually fires. It's normal for quiet stretches to pass with nothing, then several prints to land close together — institutional activity isn't evenly spaced.
Once you're comfortable, the filter row above the feed is worth using: Sweeps and Blocks are single aggressive prints (the clearest signal), Confirmed narrows to trades where open interest has verified a fresh position, and the 🔥 Fresh Confirmed Sweeps quick-view combines both — the highest-signal, lowest-noise slice of the feed.
2. Reading one card, end to end
Click any row to expand it. Here's what each part is actually telling you, in the order it matters:
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Sweep / Block / Accum badge | Sweep & Block are one aggressive print; Accum is a build-up across several prints in one window — see the badges' own guides below for detail |
| 🟢 OI confirmed / ⏳ pending / ⚠️ covering | Whether open interest actually verified a fresh position — the single most important check on the card. See What Is OI Confirmation? |
| Notional value (₹ Cr) | How much real money the print represents — bigger isn't automatically better, but it's a rough size filter |
| Bullish / Bearish / Long-side closing | The directional read on the STOCK — not on whether the option itself is a buy or sell. A put write is bullish; a call sold to close is neutral, not bearish. See What Does "Bullish" or "Bearish" Mean on a Card? for a worked example |
| Signal Confidence + stars | A plain-language score summing up everything above (OI, size, tape quality, nearby strikes agreeing) — the ✓/✗ list underneath tells you exactly why, no hidden formula |
3. What a genuinely strong setup looks like
Not every card is equally worth your attention. A setup is worth a second look when several of these line up on the same card — one alone usually isn't enough:
- OI confirmed (🟢), not pending or covering
- Sweep or block — a single aggressive print reads cleaner than a slow accumulation
- Near-the-money strike — deep out-of-the-money prints are cheaper to place and easier to be "just a bet"
- Nearby strikes agreeing — the same directional lean showing up on more than one strike on the same name is a much stronger tell than one strike alone
- "Strong" or "Excellent Confirmation" band, not "Await Confirmation" or "Weak Evidence"
The homepage's "Where big money is buying" and campaign strips do a version of this filtering for you automatically, surfacing only the names clearing a real size floor with fresh, confirmed OI.
4. What we deliberately don't tell you
DaySwingTrader shows you what large, verified trades happened and how strong the evidence behind them is — it does not tell you what to do about it. There's no entry price, target, or stop-loss anywhere on this site, and there never will be. Every card carries the same honest framing: this measures evidence of what already happened, not a prediction of what happens next. Not every confirmed, high-confidence signal works out — that's the nature of positioning data, not a flaw in the grading. Treat it as one input alongside your own judgment, not a signal to act on blindly.
Put this into practice
Open the live feed, filter to 🔥 Fresh Confirmed Sweeps, and watch a few real cards resolve during market hours — that's the fastest way to build a feel for it.
